Origins

Mâcon gives its name to the region and vineyards of the Mâconnais, located in the southern part of Burgundy. The vines are planted on the slopes of a long line of hills following a north to south axis. The vineyard spreads between Tournus, Cluny and Mâcon. The hills of the Mâconnais extend over some 40 km from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Rock of Solutré and are bordered on one side by the river Saône and the Grosne on the other. The Mâcon-Village appellation covers approximately 1,880 hectares planted with Chardonnay.

Vinification & ageing

The grapes were hand and mechanically harvested then pressed in a pneumatic press. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. The malolactic fermentation was completed at 100%. The wine was then aged on its finest lees in stainless steel tanks for 9 months to bring roundness and keep its bright fresh aromas.
